We love to hear how God moves in the hearts of people to sponsor a child. The story below is a special one of how Ella was led to sponsor Proscovia through Arrows + Hope Uganda:
“Some things in life seem like coincidences, and others are undoubtedly the work of God guiding and calling you to certain people and places. I had traveled to Uganda with a group of athletes through Hope College, and now two years later, God has been connecting me back to the people of Uganda through Arrows + Hope!
When I was a senior at Hope College, one of my assistant basketball coaches sent me a picture of the Arrows + Hope Uganda annual fundraiser at Diamond Springs golf course. At the time, I thought that it was a coincidence that I had just been to Uganda a year earlier. I tucked that name into my head until recently.
I am a second year dental student at the University of Michigan, and one day the pastor at my church had shared about the importance of giving financially in a rhythm, not just spontaneously. I had been wanting to find a way to stay in touch with the people of Uganda since my mission trip there, and I thought back to the Arrows + Hope fundraiser. After a quick browse on the website, I knew I needed to get in contact with them. I have always loved working with children, and tying that in with providing an education made me incredibly excited to explore this further.
When I first talked to Michelle, it brought me right back to memories of traveling to Uganda, and as I hung up the phone, tears were strolling down my face and I had a warm, yet pulling feeling in my heart. I knew that God was calling me to something special. God has given me the amazing opportunity to sponsor a little girl named Proscovia. I am thrilled this will help her attend a better school and be exposed to Jesus Christ. There are many children who are unable to attend school and will never hear of the word of God, but I am hoping this will make an incredible difference in her life, and she will spread the Hope of Christ to those around her.”
Here is a photo of Proscovia, who Ella recently sponsored. This is the day the team shared the news with Proscovia and her mother that she was finally sponsored! Proscovia had been waiting for a long time. She is now receiving an educational scholarship and takes part in weekly discipleship classes during Arrows + Hope center days!

Below are some photos of recent activities in Uganda. We thank God for all He is doing and continues to do in the lives of these children.
Welcome, Daniel and Jalia!
We would like to welcome Daniel and Jalia Matovu to the Arrows + Hope team as the new In-Country Directors! We have known Daniel and Jalia for about 10 years now, and their heart for orphans and widows and their passion to share Jesus has not wavered.
Daniel and Jalia planted a church in a slum area of Entebbe called Emmanuel Church. Arrows + Hope partnered with them several years ago to provide educational scholarships for families at Emmanuel Church who were unable to send their children to school – primarily orphaned and vulnerable children.
Chris traveled to Uganda last month to officially hire Daniel and Jalia and to introduce them to the rest of the team. We are so grateful to have them join us and look forward to seeing them use their gifts to point the children, caregivers, and communities of Arrows + Hope to hope in Christ!
