Stories of Hope – March 2025

Our desire is that each child and family of Arrows + Hope will know Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him.  It’s why discipleship is central to everything we do.  This is where true change begins and transformation happens.

Deborah (pictured above in the yellow coat) is the Arrows + Hope Discipleship Coordinator.  She visits each child and their family at home and school on a regular basis to encourage them, pray with them, and point them to Hope in Christ.  We are thankful for her heart for the Lord and for each child in the Arrows + Hope program!

Shoes Matter

Seemingly small barriers – like not having the correct shoes, or a notebook and pencil – can prevent a child in Uganda from attending school.  However, since Arrows + Hope covers school fees and provides many of the needed scholastic materials for each sponsored child, their parents/caregivers are now able to provide for some of the items their children need for school themselves.

This encourages the caregiver, who can now contribute something to their child’s education, and the child is also encouraged that their family has invested in their education and future!

Children and their caregivers gathered last month at the Soroti Ministry Center and at Emmanuel Church to receive their scholastic materials!

Goat Project

It has been exciting to watch some of the children who received goats for Christmas last year invest their time and energy into caring for them and creating an asset for their family.  Shantel now has four goats!  Her goal is to continue multiplying her goats and then sell some of them to purchase a cow for her family that will provide milk.

Joshua Update

Please pray for Joshua as he recovers from malaria.  His leg is getting stronger, but he is still unable to walk.  The team in Soroti has been visiting his home regularly to ensure Joshua’s family is giving him the physical therapy he needs and making sure he has additional nutritional food to help his body heal.
