Stories of Hope – June 2025

Arrows + Hope Alumni Update
Celebrating Their Journey

We’re excited to share an update on the incredible journeys of our Arrows + Hope graduates as they continue to shine the light of Christ in their communities!

As part of an ongoing commitment to encourage and support Arrows + Hope alumni, the team in Uganda has established a WhatsApp group specifically for the Arrows + Hope graduates.  (WhatsApp is a free messaging app that lets you text, call, and have video conference calls.)  This group has fostered connection, encouragement, and mutual support among our graduates as they navigate their individual paths.

In addition to this, the Ugandan team has been reaching out to many of the graduates through phone calls and visits.  This allows us to gain deeper insights into their progress and the unique ways God is using them and their gifts.  It also gives us the opportunity to encourage and pray with them!

Florence – Teacher

Florence continues her impactful work as a teacher at “The Sisters” primary school. We’re delighted to hear she’s happy and well, providing loving care for her daughter.

Sarah – Veterinary Assistant

Sarah is faithfully serving as a Sub-county regional veterinary assistant in the Kumi district, making a difference in her community!

Susan – Salon Owner

Susan is flourishing with her salon business and warmly welcomed the Uganda team when they visited her, highlighting the value of ongoing connection.

Betty – Teacher, Tailoring, Shoemaking

Betty is making a wonderful impact as a preschool and kindergarten teacher.  She’s using her artistic talents with the children to help develop their skills.  She has taught knitting, beading, and more!  She is also a mother to twin boys.

Michelle – Information Technology

Michelle is thriving in her current workplace, demonstrating the skills and character nurtured through Arrows + Hope.

Angela – Hairdresser

Angela was trained in the area of hairdressing through an apprenticeship. Pray for her as she is recently a new mother!

David – Information Technology

David was trained in Information Technology.  Pray for an opportunity for employment for him.

Rhoda – Tailoring

Rhoda has temporarily returned to her village for the planting season.  We pray for a fruitful season for her and look forward to her return to Soroti town as she resumes her job search.  She continues to serve in her church and use her skill of tailoring!

Emmanuel – Building and Brick Making

Emmanuel attended vocational school for building and already has several projects in the works!  He had started building bricks even before he graduated!

Betty – Tailoring

Betty graduated from vocational school for tailoring and can now make beautiful clothing!

Jorem – Medicine

Jorem has applied to several medical centers in Soroti.  We lift him up in prayer, asking for God’s favor and open doors in these applications.

Overall, it’s inspiring to see our graduates using their gifts.  Some have secured employment, others are gaining experience through volunteering, while others are pursuing new opportunities.

We continue praying for God’s favor and wisdom for them.  Your support is so important for their progress.  We appreciate all you give – your prayers, your financial help, your time – and it’s wonderful to see the difference it makes!

As Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us,

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” May our graduates continue to serve with all their hearts, knowing their true reward comes from the Lord.”
