September Mission Trip Update
Written by Dennis Kalungi, Arrows + Hope Project Coordinator, and edited by the U.S. Team
We are thrilled to share an update from our recent mission trip to Soroti, Uganda! This journey was a powerful demonstration of the Great Commission in action. From Entebbe to Soroti, we felt the Lord moving through every home visit, prison ministry, and community fellowship.

Community Ministry: Entebbe & Soroti
Our trip began with a moving church service at our partner, Emmanuel Bible Community Church in Entebbe. Afterward, Pastor Chris and Pastor Jeff, along with local leaders, spent the afternoon conducting home visits in the community.
Before we headed to Jinja, we took time to visit several families in the Entebbe community, including those of our sponsored children and church members. Each visit was a meaningful encounter. We listened to their stories, encouraged them with the Word of God, and prayed over their lives and families.
A Journey of Faith: Agnes’s Miracle
During our home visits, we witnessed a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness in the life of Agnes. Agnes is a dedicated and joyful choir member at Emmanuel Bible Community Church who uses a prosthetic leg. Her passion for worship is so strong that you would never guess she has an artificial limb!
A few months ago, her prosthetic leg became old and damaged, making it increasingly difficult for her to walk. The cost for a replacement was far too high for her to afford. Our church had been praying for her, believing God would provide.
During one of our home visits, the answer to that prayer arrived. Pastor Jeff, deeply touched by Agnes’s faith and her story, felt the Lord lay it on his heart to help her get a new prosthetic leg. It was a deeply emotional moment for all of us. This simple act of obedience during a home visit reminded us that God truly sees, hears, and provides for His children.

Soroti Ministry Highlights
Upon arriving in Soroti, we were greeted with such a warm welcome at the Arrows + Hope Ministry Center by the team and graduates! Seeing their joyful smiles and hearing their powerful testimonies was deeply moving. They shared how the Arrows + Hope program has equipped them with the wisdom and strength to face the world with courage — a clear testament to the transformative impact of the support so many of you have generously given!
Farming God’s Way
We hosted a Farming God’s Way (FGW) training, which reminded us of God’s instruction in Genesis 2:15 to cultivate and keep the land. Many farmers in Uganda face fears of poor harvest and drought, and FGW offers a sustainable, faith-based solution. It was a blessing to share how the Gospel can be applied even through the daily work of the garden, reminding them that whatever they do, they should “do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Prison Ministry
One of the most impactful moments of our trip was visiting the Soroti Prison. As Matthew 25:35–40 reminds us, ministering to those in prison is a service to Christ Himself. We were inspired to find that a large number of inmates have found faith in Christ despite their circumstances! Their joy in worship was truly inspiring. We shared messages of hope and love, and we are praising God that four inmate men accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!

Community Home Visits and Fellowships
Another highlight was conducting home visits in the Omalara community. We were overjoyed to see Joshua walking with the help of his crutches—a significant milestone! He looked happier and healthier, a living testimony to God’s faithfulness.
Please continue to pray for Peter, who is receiving treatment at Bethesda Hospital for his wounds, and for Scott, who has been discharged after battling malaria.

Our Home Cell Fellowships continue to be an incredible spiritual opportunity. We witnessed many community members gathering to worship and hear God’s Word. The attendance is growing so rapidly that there is a need for expansion, as people are walking long distances to join the four active groups. We are excited to see how God will continue to use Arrows + Hope to bring transformation to Soroti.

Thank You
Our mission trip was a beautiful testament to God’s faithfulness and the power of unity. We thank God for the servant hearts of the team, especially Pastor Chris and Pastor Jeff for their compassionate leadership, and Isaac (Farming God’s Way Trainer), Joel (The Driver), the Arrows + Hope Graduates, and every member of the Entebbe and Soroti teams for their dedication.
Lives were touched, hearts were encouraged, and souls were won for Christ. None of this would be possible without the prayers and support of partners like you.

Blessings to everyone,
